About Sewer Installation & Repair
One sewer pipe, the lateral, connects your house into the utility sewer line under the street. It’s usually a 4-inch pipe that’s buried and slopes down to the utility sewer line. To ensure good drainage, the lateral must be installed with the correct slope: too much slope causes clogs at the utility sewer line; too little slope causes clogs where your drain exits your home.
Do you need a new sewer installed? Did you have problems with your sewer system and a plumber has determined your main sewer line is damaged?
Whether installing or repairing a sewer lateral, the process is similar. We measure the starting and ending elevation. Then we calculate the slope by dividing the difference of the two elevations by the lateral’s total length. Next we dig the trench with the appropriate slope and line it with sand. Then we install the pipe connecting the house’s drain to the main utility line under the street. Finally, we backfill the trench carefully to prevent the soil from moving and the pipe settling.
You can trust the experts at Paul the Plumber to repair or install your sewer line correctly and to do quality work that will last.

Called Paul on Valentine’s Day, today, Sunday, 2/14/21. They were very responsive. They were helpful and friendly. I was charged only $345 and it was a pretty complicated job with wall cutting required. The copper pipe on hose faucet on exterior brick had busted and was leaking. Had to cut inside house under sink. Didn’t put the hose back as third hose on exterior for multiple reasons but primarily because we would have to remove the bathroom sink completely. A lot of plumbing parts are sold out too per this odd hard freeze with schools and roads shut down. Replace pipe and end piece. Paul was very knowledgeable and friendly by phone. He has a good team that was helpful along the way as well. Deborah did great with communicating and scheduling as well. I highly recommend them.
Paul and his employees were all terrific, I honestly can't say enough good things about them! They were on time, very communicative, upfront about everything. My situation required me to leave and go buy a new toilet and they had another appointment, but they made sure to come back to my house after that appointment and were here well into the evening (way past working hours) to ensure that everything got taken care of and handled! I appreciate it so much! We will ALWAYS use Paul the Plumber for our plumbing needs and highly recommend that you call them for all of yours! Great people!
