About Water Heaters
Tank water heaters, whether electric or natural gas, are the most common. They heat and store hot water in an insulated tank until it’s needed, when it exits via a pipe at the top of the tank. Tank water heaters use a lot of energy, but can make a lot of hot water at once.
Tankless water heaters use heating coils to heat up water as it’s needed. They are more energy efficient than tank water heaters, but they can only provide a limited amount of hot water at once.
Most water heaters last 8 to 12 years. Symptoms of water heater problems include rusty colored water, water with a metallic odor or taste, rumbling noises, water that doesn’t quite get hot, no hot water at all, or a leaking water heater. If your water heater is leaking, first turn off the gas or electrical line to the hot water heater, so the heating element won’t continue to heat and eventually cause a fire. Next turn off the cold water supply line so the water heater doesn’t flood your house.

Called Paul on Valentine’s Day, today, Sunday, 2/14/21. They were very responsive. They were helpful and friendly. I was charged only $345 and it was a pretty complicated job with wall cutting required. The copper pipe on hose faucet on exterior brick had busted and was leaking. Had to cut inside house under sink. Didn’t put the hose back as third hose on exterior for multiple reasons but primarily because we would have to remove the bathroom sink completely. A lot of plumbing parts are sold out too per this odd hard freeze with schools and roads shut down. Replace pipe and end piece. Paul was very knowledgeable and friendly by phone. He has a good team that was helpful along the way as well. Deborah did great with communicating and scheduling as well. I highly recommend them.
Paul and his employees were all terrific, I honestly can't say enough good things about them! They were on time, very communicative, upfront about everything. My situation required me to leave and go buy a new toilet and they had another appointment, but they made sure to come back to my house after that appointment and were here well into the evening (way past working hours) to ensure that everything got taken care of and handled! I appreciate it so much! We will ALWAYS use Paul the Plumber for our plumbing needs and highly recommend that you call them for all of yours! Great people!
